FAQ

Q.    Why do you only sell your pet bengals already desexed?

A.
Sadly this is the first question from prospective buyers. I have received so many emails and telephone calls that this has now warranted a page of its own. You can find the answer HERE!

Q.    How much do they cost?

A.
Prices will depend on the quality of the cat /kitten.  We compare each animal carefully against the breed standard set forth by TICA.  Of course those cats that come closest to the standard are higher quality and are more valuable to our breeding program and to the breed itself.

Q.
When can my kitten come home with me?

A.
We do not let our kittens go to thier new homes before 12 weeks of age. During thier first 12 weeks of life they will have been vet checked several times and will have received up to date vaccinations... They will have been properly socialized with older cats, our english bulldogs and boxer, children and of course adults as all of our kittens are raised in the house with us. Basically...  they need at least 12 weeks to have a proper great start to life!

Q.   Are you willing to ship? What about internationally?

A.
Yes. Of course we prefer you to come visit and see your kitten and our home in person, but we also understand that it isn't always possibile to travel.. especially internationally. If we can get the cat you safely and in a timely manner we are very willing to ship worldwide.  Our priority will always be the safety and health of our cats so conditions will have to be absolutely perfect to ship.

We do travel back and forth to the USA and/or have friends and family members that can travel abroad with your kitten with a little bit of organization.  Sometimes this is the easiest and least inexpensive mode of transporting kittens between the US and Europe.

We also travel throughout Europe regulary. We can arrange almost anything!!

All other locations please feel free to contact us and we'll try to accomodate shipping arrangements.  Again, the health and safety of our kittens is paramount, if we can do it safely.. and quickly we're more than happy to do it.

Q.   What do you feed a bengal?

A.
Food!  Just kidding!   We prefer to feed a raw diet that is carefully balanced  by cat nutritionists.  We follow a strict recipe that provides all of the necessary protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, bones and taurine that is required by our cats.  Of course we train our kittens to eat a raw diet AND dry kibble so that it will be easier on the kitten and the new owner if they choose to follow a commercially prepared dry food diet.

We feed our cats twice daily with our raw diet approximately 2.5 oz. each feeding for each cat. This changes depending on whether a dam is pregnant or nursing kittens, at which point we will increase thier portions up to 3 times what they would normally eat.  (babies take alot of energy!) We also give them UNCOOKED RAW chicken leg.thigh bones as a treat in addition to thier regular diet. This also helps keep thier teeth and gums healthy and reduces tarter.  We provide fresh water to them at all times!

You can read more about the raw diet and find our recipe that we use on our  RAW DIET PAGE.

Q.   How much does a bengal weigh?

A.
Bengals weigh roughly the same as any other domestic house cat.  Average for females is approximately 4-6 kg. and males weighing usually a bit more on average around 5-8kg.

Q.   How do you get marble bengals from spotted bengals?

A.
The marble trait is a recessive gene.  This means that a spotted bengal can have the genetic makeup in its' DNA to create marble bengals.  To have marble kittens BOTH parents must carry the marble genes.  So, two spotted bengals that carry the marble gene will produce spotted and marble kittens.   On the other hand, if you breed two marble bengals together you will only get marble kittens.
To further complicate things  you can breed a marble bengal to a spotted bengal that does not carry the marble gene and have a litter of all spotted bengals.  These kittens though will all be carriers of the marble gene so these offspring will be able to produce marbles in the future is placed witih a marble bengal or a spotted that carries the marble gene!  Fun eh?
